Dear Academia,
The killing of scientists by the political regimes under any pretext should be condemned. We all know that science is a global and collective phenomenon. We also know that the scientific system has many dimensions and aspects that are not only rooted in history and the efforts of past scientists, but all current scientists and academics also have an indispensable contribution to its promotion. Unfortunately, the illegitimate and human-violating Israeli regime has assassinated and attacked many Iranian scientists and academics in recent days, an act that harmed the scientific system and the world's scientific network both legally and existentially. So, according to the famous Iranian poet, Saadi, who said that human beings are members of one body, created from one essence, and when one member suffers, there is no peace for the other members; it must be said that the peace of the scientific system in the world has been taken away by the actions of Israel. Iranian scientists and academics were and are part of the global network of science. The slain Iranian researchers thrived in such an environment and disseminated their knowledge in collaboration with reputable scientists and academics around the world. We call on the academic community and scientists around the world and international human rights institutions to condemn, in unison with the large family of Iranian scientists, the aggressive action of the Israeli scientist-killing regime in destroying universities and killing Iranian professors, specially Professor Tehranchi, who was in charge of managing a large university with hundreds of branches in Iran and the world. May the global science system benefit from more legal tools to protect the lives of scientists and academic institutions in the near future.
