Dr. Osman Bakar Received the Prize of 13th FIA

Professor Osman Bakar, a prominent Malaysian Islamoligist, received the prize of the Farabi International Award in a special ceremony at International Institute of Islamic Thought and Civilization (ISTAC) in Kuala Lumpur on Thursday, 8th December 2022.
In 13th FIA closing ceremony which was held on July 2022 in Tehran, Professor Bakar was selected as one of the distinguished winners of the FIA for his lifetime scientific researches and efforts in the field of Islamic Studies.
Bakar, who received the prize from Ali Asghar Mohammadi, Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran to Malaysia, said that he has been working in the field of Islamology and Islamization of humanities for many years. Some of his works have been translated into Persian.
“Dr. Osman Bakar, in addition to being a prominent Islamologist, has a great opinion in the field of Islamic humanities”, said Dr. Reza Gholami, the head of the Permanent Secretariat of Farabi International Award, in a message to the ceremony.
In this ceremony, which was held at the International Institute of Islamic Thought and Civilization of Malaysia (ISTEC), in Kuala Lumpur, participants also emphasized on the development of scientific and academic relations and the strengthening and consolidating of cultural and artistic cooperation between Iran and Malaysia, especially in the field of the Islamic culture and civilization.
